Grits and Gospel. This event will be held at the historic Silver Springs Baptist Church, founded in1874, on Jackson Street in Pendleton, SC. Food will be served from 10 to 11 with entertainment from 10 to 12.
The Board of Pendleton Pride In Motion, 501(c)3 non profit organization, has partnered with the Community Health Promotion Class in the Department of Public Health Sciences at Clemson University to host this Fundraiser to fulfill our mission of making Pendleton a “healthier” community. Proceeds will help fund a SC Bronze Marker recognizing African American Heritage in Pendleton and continuation of the PPIM $1,000.00 “Quality of Life” Scholarship to a deserving PHS Senior.
Come out and enjoy some wonderful Gospel Music and a delicious Breakfast Bowl featuring Grits with your favorite topping of shrimp, cheese, or sausage. Also, there will be a variety of bread and pastries along with coffee and juice. Music will be provided by the New Holly Light choir as well as other talented Gospel singers.
This is a “Rain or Shine” event so bring your lawn chair if the weather is permitting. Otherwise, we will be inside the church.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $3 for children under 8 years of age. Tickets can be purchased at Avenue of Oaks on the square in Pendleton or call 646-5284.
