PENDLETON NEWS: May 2015 in Pendleton, SC

All of the Pendleton 225 and Alive events have been wonderful and we are not even half way through the year. Besides the official 225 events, we also have plenty of other happenings in our little town. There seems to always be something for everyone so come join us! Oh, and be on the lookout for Davie Kirkley who is searching for Daffodil Sponsors for the Fall Planting! We hope to get another 16,000 daffodils sponsored. May 2 - Time for Spring Cleaning at the Playground: Spring Work Day at Barrett's Place Playground and Trotter's Trail beginning at 8:30 and working until around noon. Bring your work gloves and your favorite tools for a busy morning. Volunteers appreciated. Friends of the Park has two work days a year with one in the spring and one in the fall (Sept. 19). Also, this year we will celebrate our playground's 10th birthday on October 11th so mark your calendar.

May 3^rd 6:00 p.m. Jazz In The Park on the Village Green with The Wobblers. This is a free event! Bring your chair or blanket and enjoy some great music.

May 8 and 9 - Enjoy a stroll on a spring day with Walking Tours by Ellen! It costs $5 and is well worth it!

May 14 - Pendleton Historic Foundation annual Meeting at Cox Hall featuring guest speaker, Roger Stroup, former director of SC Archives & History. You do not have to be a member of PHF to attend this event that begins at 6 pm but you do need to make your reservations by May 8 with your $20/person payment. It will be a wonderful evening with dinner included as well as a Wine and Cheese Social.

May 23 - PRA Car Show and Festival - The previously advertised date was rained out but we are hoping that the sun will shine bright for this event on May 23rd at Veterans Park.

May 30 - Pendleton Art Crawl 6 to 9 on the square in Pendleton. Be sure to "like" the Pendleton Art Crawl fan page on Facebook to get all the latest information.
