PRAYERS FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF AVERY ROBINSON

My heartfelt prayers go out to the family and friends of Pendleton High student, Avery Robinson who passed away yesterday.

A Lesson Learned

I know better but still I did it. Live and Learn!
Yesterday I was not having a good day and had spent most of the day in the bed when I realized it was time to pick up my grandson from school. I started to change clothes but instead just put on my shoes and went as I was.........an old stretched out Tshirt and worn out warm ups (I am talking thread bare but hey they are very comfortable) and I didn't even brush my hair or teeth. I thought I would just get in line and pick him up and come back home to my bed.........
Well, I got to the entrance to the parking lot and was stopped by a teacher who explained that the school was in Lock Down and that I would have to come inside and wait with everyone else. Evidently we were surrounded by tornadoes.
I was just mighty glad that I had on the necessary under garments, if you know what I mean!

SQUIDOO VISITS SENIOR FELLOWSHIP

Jean Vegod and I were invited to speak to the Senior Fellowship Group at First Baptist. Diane Scott does such a wonderful job with this program and we appreciated being invited to talk about the Happenings Around Pendleton. We were asked to stay for lunch which was delicious. Rev Krueger was kind enough to set up his lap top to project onto a screen so we could show the Squidoo Pendleton Happenings Lens as well as the Old Pendleton Photos lens. Jean gave each person a Timeless Tours & Travel tote bag filled with flyers, brochures and business cards.

We had so much fun that we have decided to take our presentation on the road. Give us a call if you need a speaker for your next meeting. We love to talk about Pendleton.

Our Family Vacation

Thanks to some very special, generous friends, we were able to take a week long vacation and it was fantastic. Our whole family was together around the dinner table a couple of times and I just loved that. We took our grandson to the South Carolina Aquarium and the Charleston Museum. He enjoyed both as well as playing in the ocean, fishing, and eating great seafood. It was a wonderful week!

What a Week!

It has really been a fun week this week. I turned 60 on Tuesday and realize more and more each day how much I am blessed with a wonderful family and great friends. On Thursday my grandson and I had a space at the Farmers Market for him to sell his homemade lemonade and cookies. We had fun. Then today.....well today.....I was so excited to see that my Old Pendleton Photos lens was #1 in the Local Category. Yes, it has been an exciting week.

A GREAT HONOR

I was so surprised and thrilled when I received the Key To The City. This came as a complete shock to say the least. I am just now able to reflect on this wonderful moment. It is displayed with pride in our den and there is just no way to explain what this meant to me. Thank you to our wonderful Town Council for thinking so much of me. It is still hard to believe.

Red Hat Society Have Lunch At 1826 On The Green

Hibiscus

Our Perinial Hibiscus has really made a show this year. My sister, Betty, told me that I needed to take a picture of it so here it is. We have really enjoyed it. It must like the dry weather.
