Old Photo or Just Old Women
Last Thursday I left for Edisto Beach with 6 of my friends for our annual Steel Magnolias Trip. We have been going for a good many years and it is always so much fun. I am so fortunate to have such wonderful friends. Our activities sure have changed as we have gotten older. I remember when we were constantly doing something but this time we just lazied around reading, watching old movies, talking, and eating. It was fantastic! I had missed the last two years and it was very nice to be able to join them this year. Now, I can't wait until 2009. Thank you, friends!

What Squidoo Can Do For Pendleton SC
I now have 5 lenses (mini web pages) about Pendleton. At the bottom of each lens, there are links to all 9 of my lenses. I would greatly appreciate your visiting all of them. The more traffic a lens has the higher rank it will get (hopefully) and the higher ranking, the more money it makes. The formula for rankings is top secret but they do tell you that traffic means a lot. If you are in the top tier (less than 2,000 overall, then your pay will be more. Right now I have 7 out of 9 in the top tier. If you look at the top right of each lens, it will state what the ranking is in that lens category as well as the overall ranking. So please continue to visit these sites on a regular basis and tell all of your friends. Now I am not talking tons of money but some and I am planning on donating any profits to Friends of the Park. Squidoo is very charity minded and donates a lot of money to charity. I am trying to get Friends of the Park listed as one of those charities. Notice at the top right of each lens and all of mine presently will read "Donates to Squidoo Charity Fund". Hopefully, one day they will each read "Donates to Friends of the Park". Each lens (70,000 plus) is encouraged to give a percentage of their income to a listed charity and then Squidoo gives a percentage of their income to charity. It is amazing the amount of money they have raised for some very worthwhile causes. The income comes from the ads that are listed on each lens as well as the sale of merchandise. I have really enjoyed being a part of the Squidoo community and hope you have enjoyed the lenses.

Pendleton Old Photos
My lens containing old photographs of Pendleton SC is now ranked 107 overall thanks to an Angel Blessing by Thomas C. I am so excited to be this close to the top 100. Thank you to everyone who has viewed this lens. It continues to be more and more fun as I get contacted by old friends and people continue to share old photos for this site. Such fun!

Little Anthony and The Imperials
Little Anthony and the Imperials have been a favorite group of mine for a long time so when Squidoo decided to have a Charity Virtual Concert Series, I chose to do my lens on them. I didn't win the contest but had fun and continued to enjoy working on this lens. My sister, Joan, went on My Space and sent them a message telling them about it and asked them to stop by and leave a comment on my lens. Guess What? Someone from their group did that and we have had so much fun. The lens now has been blessed by a squid angel and is moving up in the rankings. Such fun.

Happy Grandparents Day to all you grandparents out there
I love being a Grandma. My grandma name is Ohme and I guess this is as good a place as any to tell you why. When my grandson was learning to talk, I was due a knee replacement and it was so hard for me to get up and down while holding him. I would automatically say "Oh Me!" as I tried to get up from a sitting position with him in my arms. He just picked up on it and started mocking me and it just stuck. I love it. He is such a joy to us and we are so thankful that we live in the same town and see him almost daily. Yes,I love being a grandma!

PROVIDENCE QUARTET
Last night I went to our church (Pendleton United Methodist) to hear THE PROVIDENCE QUARTET. It was wonderful. I wish that everyone in town could have heard them. If you see that they are performing somewhere, please go hear them. One of the members is Toby Fricks who is a neighbor of ours. I have known his mom and dad for years and years. This talented group of men are an inspiration.
Congratulations Pendleton Bulldogs
The Pendleton Bulldogs pulled out an exciting victory Friday night. Their next game is September 5 at West Oak and then the next one will be at home against Ware Shoals.
